Wyatt Donald Rankin

April 3, 1955 — March 8, 2021

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Wyatt Donald Rankin at Medical City Dallas on Monday, March 8th, 2021 after septic shock due to complications from COVID-19. Wyatt was in his 65th year.

Wyatt was born in Anchorage, Alaska in 1955. He was a caring person who quickly learned the value of a dollar (and quarter), when he started working to buy his first pickup truck. He attended Dimond High School and soon after travelled to Monterrey, California for basic training in the United States Military. He travelled the lower 48 for the next few years before returning to Alaska where he started his career in the coating and foam industry. He spent the next 45 years learning, teaching, and managing. Wyatt loved his family & friends dearly, never hesitating to help anyone who was in need, and was always a phone call away.

Wyatt is survived in death by his wife of over 30 years, Diana Rankin; mother, Barbara Mae Thaman; siblings, Anne, Jesse and Ron; children, William, Jennifer, Ginger, and Darwin; grandchildren: Alex, Mycah, Madison, Samantha, Will, Gabi, Daniel, Austin, and Hannah; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Roxanne. Wyatt is also survived by his best friend since high school, Darwin Sprinkle.

Wyatt was preceded in death by Marvin Jess Rankin (father), Jim Thaman (bonus dad) Marvin Jess Rankin II (brother), and Marilynn May Dominguez (granddaughter). He has now joined them in Heaven and is with us in spirit.
