William Haskell James, 93, of Dallas, was born in Richardson, Texas on November 6, 1918 to C. H. and Ida James. He passed from this life on June 8, 2012 in Dallas.


Jimmy served in England, France and Germany as a Sergeant in the U. S. Army. He worked for some 43 years as a Clerk in the Post Office.


Jimmy was an accomplished bowler, winning over 50 trophies. He enjoyed playing horseshoes and camping in state parks. Upon his retirement he played bingo at North Buckner Bingo and Strike It Rich Bingo where he was known as "Mr. Lucky".


Jimmy is survived by his wife, Margie L. James, her sons John William Bishop and Robert Edward Bishop and his wife Donna and children Robert Edward Bishop, Bryan David Bishop and Holly Bishop Cruz and her son Austin Bishop Cruz, his nephew and nieces, Jesse and Beverly James and daughters Angela, Melissa and Brenda of Grapevine, Texas, Rodney and Debbie James of Euless, Texas, Aaron and Cori James and daughters Savannah and Isabella of Grand Prairie, Texas, Tiffany and Jorge Morales and children Alexis and Gabriel of Grand Prairie, Texas, Doug James and children Eli, Seth, Nathan and Leah of Heber Springs, Arkansas, Larry James of Alvarado, Texas, Claudia McMichael of Waxahachie, Texas, Bryce and Courtney Parker and son Chase of Waxahachie, Texas, James and Malinda Arrant of Tyler, Stephanie Thompson and daughters Mallerie and Laney Thompson of Tyler, and his cousins Ray and Eleanor Sandifer of Commerce, Texas, Jim and Janet Latham of Commerce, Texas, Ben and Janine Latham of Plano, Texas, and Sarah White and daughter Holly of Commerce, Texas.


Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents C. H. and Ida James, brother Gene and sister-in-law Carlene James, sister Sylvia and brother-in-law A. R. Arrant, and nephew Dr. Rick McMichael.


Memorial Service will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 14 at Eastgate Funeral Home, 1910 Eastgate Drive, Garland, Texas 75041 (exit 635 at Centerville or phone 972-270- 6116 for directions).
