William Wayne Williams, passed peacefully on May 3rd, 2022. William was born the son of Roberta Carson and Francis Williams on February 23rd, 1957.
William spent twenty-two years of service in the United States Coast Guard (1976 -1998), retiring as a Veteran having served through two tours of war. William reached the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer AMC Aviation Structural Mechanics, Coast Guard HC-130 Hercules Aircraft.
During his time-of-service William was recognized for his outstanding knowledge and leadership. He received the Coast Guard Commendation Medal, the Coast Guard Good Conduct Medal with one silver star and one bronze star, the National Defense Service Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Coast Guard Unit Commendation with gold star, the Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Commendation, the Coast Guard Bicentennial Unit Commendation, the Secretary's Outstanding Unit Award, and two Coast Guard Person of the Quarter Awards, the Coast Guard Special Operations Service Ribbon, the Commandant's Letter of Commendation Ribbon with Gold Star, among many others.
Following his military career, William retired as a Facility Property Manager where he constructed building projects and managed the grounds of a senior care center. At home William enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking in the shop, and having fun on the weekends getting together with friends and family. His hobbies were gardening, building something from almost-nothing, and tending to his bonsai trees. In earlier years William loved to play basketball with his sons and go traveling with the family discovering new places together. William was a member of The Cross Church in Wylie and participated in Jim Clarke's Growth Group. He followed his faith in Christ Jesus and dedicated his life to the Lord and his family.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 21st, 2022 at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home in Lavon, Texas. Visitation will be from 11:00am – 12:00pm. The service will begin at 12:00pm with Mr. Jim Clarke officiating. Interment will follow with Military Honors at onsite cemetery, officiated by Rev. Laurens Edwards. Open Reception provided by the family directly following Graveside service, located onsite.
