Walterine Hollingsworth Sharp

On Tuesday, September 14, 2021, Walterine Hollingsworth Sharp passed away peacefully at home in Copeville, Texas at the age of 82.
She was born in Sherman, Texas to Asa Kenneth Hollingsworth and Vera Clara McCarley Hollingsworth on March 9, 1939. She graduated from Abilene Christian High School and attended some courses at Abilene Christian College. She married Jerry Dan Slocum in 1958 and had three children; Mary Charlene (Ricky Harris), Cherie Jeanne (Sam Harland), Holly Kellene (Frank Powell). Walterine and Jerry later divorced and in 1968 she married Ephriam William Sharp and they had Kenneth Rayburn (Barbara Adams) and Melissa Lynne (Robert Heisterberg).
Walterine was predeceased by her only sibling, Sybil Lynne Hollingsworth Craig, her step-granddaughter Felicia Renee Waddell, and her great grandchildren Emma Renee Waddell and Bennett Isaiah Peace. She is survived by all five children, 15 grandchildren and step grandchildren, and 37 great grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Walterine had a great life long interest in history which led to her becoming a published genealogist with her business partner and friend, Sandra Tedford. Her interest in history led her to join the Society For Creative Anachronism also. The SCA reconstruct Medieval Era events as accurately as possible. Her role was that of a merchant who made and sold medieval garb. She was very creative and could sew, crochet, embroider, and cross stitch. She made stained glass, ceramics, pottery pieces, and jewelry.
