88, Born February 23, 1924 in Letcher County, Kentucky and passed away August 12, 2012 in Wylie, Texas. Valma was a member of Wylie Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob Boyd and Celia Evelyn McKnight Banks; three brothers, Estill Banks, Edison Banks and Vernon Banks; and two sisters, Ruby Collins and Orpha Hampton.
Valma is survived by her husband of sixty-eight years, Homer Clyde Houts; daughter, Patty Mustin and her husband, Bill; son, Michael Houts and his wife, LaDonna; five grandchildren, Lisa Mesquit and her husband, Brent, John Mustin, Michelle Mustin, Matt Houts and his wife, Keri, and Mark Houts and his wife, Beth; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Herbert Banks; three sisters, Mable Banks, Lois Day, and Joyce Wampler; and numerous other family members.
Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Sachse.
Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 2925 5th Street, Sachse, Texas 75048. Alvis Nichols officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to the "Mission Fund" Wylie Church of Christ, 901 S. Ballard Avenue, Wylie, Texas 75098.
