Tom Reaves: In Memoriam

Thomas "Tom" David Reaves, son of the late Johnnie Reaves and Rosetta Murphy Reaves, passed away Friday, October 22, 2021, from complications of the Covid virus. He had been admitted to Baylor Scott and White Medical Center Lake Pointe in Rowlett on October 13, 2021.

Tom, also called Tommy, is the great-grandson of David Rodgers and Anna English Rodgers, sister of Andrew Jackson (A. J.) English.

Born in Dallas, Tom served in the U.S. Air Force until he was called home to Garland in 1966 to help care for his father Johnnie, who was battling heart disease.

Tom drove semi-trucks, traveling over the country. He later worked for and retired from E-Systems, a manufacturer and seller of electronic systems in Garland.

Visitation will be from 10AM-12NOON. Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at Eastgate Funeral Home in Garland. Graveside services and burial will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, November 8, 2021, at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

He is survived by his son Matthew Reaves of Ponder and his sisters, Dorothy Brazier of Irving, Rose Mills of Montgomery and Naomi Day of Irving.
