Susie Marie Kempf of Garland, Texas passed away on July 12, 2023 in her Leonard, Texas home.
Susie was born May 20, 1962 in Cissna Park, IL to Robert W. and Astrid V. Kellerhals. She married John J. Tobeck and they moved to Texas in 1983, where she would go on to raise a family. As a working mother, Susie was beloved not only by family, but by friends and colleagues as well.
She worked at Texas Instruments and Raytheon until her retirement at the end of 2021. She loved to garden, raise chickens, and frequent vintage flea markets, especially First Mondays in Canton, TX. Becoming a grandparent was a life changing event and she's been Grandma Susie ever since.
She is survived by her husband, Mark E. Kempf; her children: Ashlie N. (Andrew) Seely of Batesville, AR, and Mathew P. (Lauren Taylor) Tobeck of Josephine, TX; her sister Sandy (Jon) Steffen of Naples, FL; her grandchildren: Astrid (10), Augustus (8), and Annika (1) Seely, and Oliver (3) Tobeck; and her stepchildren: Rachel, Becky, Rosemary, and Mark.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, and an infant brother.
Visitation is Monday, July 17 at 11:00 am at the Charles W. Smith and Son's Funeral Home of Lavon, TX. A Celebration of Susie's life will follow at 12:00pm, and graveside service for those who wish to join.
