Steven Ferguson

Steven Greer Ferguson, 74, passed away July 11, 2022, in McKinney, TX, with the love of his life Mary V Ferguson by his side. Steve was a very loving, generous person and truly amazing person. He was born September 14, 1947, in Jefferson, North Carolina, son of William C and Ollie M (Greer) Ferguson and loved growing up in North Carolina's High Country.
After graduating from high school, Steve served his country proudly in the United States Air Force between 1965 and 1973 with his service including a tour in Vietnam.
After leaving the Air Force, he pursued a career in testing and device evaluation and amassed over forty years of experience in various aspects. During this time, he provided testing at customer facilities on-site for multiple government and industrial clients. Steve had a lifelong dream of starting his own company and made his dream come true in January 2018, after retiring from Washington Laboratories. He launched Compliance Direction, LLC and began teaching online classes to numerous students, sharing his knowledge with people around the world in areas focusing on Electromagnetic Compatibility, product safety and Environmental test methods. His knowledge and background gave him the ability to discuss and present various courses on EMI/EMC compliance including EMC for Nuclear Power Facilities, Architectural Shielding, Environmental qualification, and MIL-STD-461 & DO-160 testing. He was versed on Electrical Safety evaluations including Risk Analysis for medical and information technology equipment and wrote many articles for Interference Technology magazine. He held an Associates Degree in Science in Engineering Technology and numerous certifications including an iNARTE EMC Engineer and IEEE certifications. Steve was a titan in his field and was recognized throughout his military and civilian career with numerous awards and citations from the highest levels of every organization in which he worked.
Steve leaves behind his loving wife of over 44 years, Mary V Ferguson, his daughter Stephanie Kenney and husband David, stepson Victor Stamper and wife Lori, stepdaughter, Evelyn Tiseth and husband Rick Salcedo, and stepson Paul Stamper and wife Michelle, 10 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his stepdaughter Mary I. (Peaches) Anglin.
Memorial Service for family and close friends will be held, August 17, 2022, at 2:30pm at the Bella Donna Chapel, 6641 Mediterranean Dr, McKinney, TX 75072.
In lieu of flowers or cards, the family is requesting donations be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
