Roy Dwain Almond

Roy D. Almond of Sachse was born in Dawson, Texas on June 18, 1938 and passed away on October 1, 2023.  

Roy is survived by his wife, Deanna, of 65 years, daughter and son-in-law, Alana and Don Crosson; son and daughter-in-law, Dwain and Melanie Almond, and grandson, Drew; granddaughter and family, Cherie and Taylor Wilcox, Caden, Aaron, Riley, and Wren; granddaughter and family Megan and Jonny Bertrand, Atticus, Whitaker, and Eloise; Brothers, Weldon and Ritha Almond of Forney, TX and Meldon and Helen Almond of Louisiana; sister Sandra Swearingen of Waxahachie; brothers-in-law Jimmy Johnson and family of Austin, TX, Chris Johnson and family also of Austin, and countless other family members and friends.

Roy had a certain charm that allowed him to make friends wherever he went.  He will be greatly missed!

A celebratory memorial service will be held at Northlake Baptist Church, 1501 No. Country Club Dr in Garland on Saturday, October 14, 2023 At 11:00 a.m.

 In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be sent to Northlake’s roof fund or local missions fund.
