Rita G. Edds, 54, of Sachse passed from this life on February 5, 2012 at her home in Sachse with her family at her side. She was born on August 1, 1957 in Fremont, Michigan to Harry and Brigitte Steigman Braafhart.
Rita was a title specialist at the Collin County Tax Office in Plano. An avid gardener, she also enjoyed working in the plant department at Home Depot.
Rita leaves behind to cherish her memories her husband Brent Edds, her four sons Kevin and his wife Andrea Edds, Kurt and his wife Sandi Edds, Christian Edds, and Erik Edds, her grandchildren Kyle and Josephine Edds, her parents Harry and Brigitte Braafhart, her sisters Suzanne Coney and Alida Braafhart, her brother Harry Braafhart, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her infant sister Patricia Braafhart.
Visitation will be 6-8 pm on Tuesday, February 7th at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Chapel, 2925 Fifth St. in Sachse and from 9-10 am on Wednesday, February 8th at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 2242 W. Lucas Rd. in Lucas.
Funeral Service will be 10 am Wednesday, February 8th at Cornerstone Baptist Church, with Reverend Jim Everidge officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials in honor of Rita may be given to the Cornerstone Food Pantry by indicating "for food pantry in memory of Rita" on the memo line of your check to the church.
