Richard Thomas Finnegan

Richard Thomas Finnegan was born on May 8th 1963 at St. Paul Hospital in Dallas, Tx to father, Frank J. Finnegan, and mother, Catherine Elizabeth Bowler Finnegan. Rich passed away peacefully on July 1st 2022 at 6:20 pm in the comfort of his home in Wylie, Tx surrounded by all his loved ones. He is survived by his brother, Robert Sean Finnegan, with whom he grew up in Richardson, Tx. Rich, or more affectionately known as Richie, went to Greenwood Hills Elementary, North Jr. High and graduated from J.J. Pearce in 1981. Rich was an Eagle Scout in Troop 317. A natural born performer, He was in Pearce's Kazoo Band, A Capella Choir and lead in plays such as "Damn Yankees", "Guys and Dolls" and "The Skin of our Teeth". Rich loved sports and voted Mr. Personality in High School. He also went to University of North Texas to study music. He worked many jobs but was proud of working with Master AV as lead installer, installing technology safely in schools for kids. Rich was most proud of his family, he was a devoted father to Erin Duncan, Meagan Davis, Ryan Finnegan, Riley Finnegan and Keely Finnegan. Best friend and father-in-law to Robert Davis. Proud Papa to Kallie Jones, Madison Fitch, Cierra Rowan, Trenton Davis, Hailey Berard and Reagan Davis. Papa-in-law to Cole Rowan. The greatest great Papa to Colt, Carson and Coraline. Uncle to Robbie Finnegan and beloved friend to more people than we can list. The family welcomes you to the celebration of Rich Finnegan's life at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home at 2925 5th St. Sachse, Tx. His viewing will be Thursday July 7th from 5-7pm. His funeral will be on Friday July 8th from 2-3pm in the chapel.
