Rene C. Rodriguez

Rene C. Rodriguez, 82, a resident of the world, passed away in McKinney, Texas, in the early morning hours on August 5, 2024, surrounded by those who honor and love him. 

Rene was born on October 26, 1941, from humble beginnings in the South Texas border town of Harlingen, the second born son of four children. His strong work ethic, developed early in life, guided him throughout his years and was a trait he passed down to his children and grandsons. At 17, he joined the US Army in 1959, serving in Korea and went on to fight in Vietnam. 

Rene met Angelica Duran, the love of his life and they married just a few months later on July 24, 1971, the start of a unique marriage spanning over five decades. They were blessed with 2 children, daughter, Jessica, and son, Ruben. 

After initially enlisting in the Air National Guard, Rene transitioned to full-time active duty with the Air Force, retiring in 1999. He then continued his service as a civil servant until retiring at the age of 82, marking nearly 65 years of dedication to his country.

Throughout his fantastic career, Rene lived life on his own terms. Joining numerous organizations, he strived at bettering the lives of those around him. He lived in multiple countries around the world and spoke several languages. Taking advantage of every opportunity, living life to the fullest. He loved life. 

Rene is preceded in death by his parents, Vicente and Manuela and his older brother Vicente Rodriguez, survived by his brother Ramiro and his sister Tencha. 

Rene is survived by his wife, Angelica. His daughter Jessica and her husband, Jody Wright and their sons, Jonathon, Xavier, Zachariah and Nathaniel. His son, Rene Ruben, his wife, Angela and their son Dominic.
