Raymond Henry Bailey

August 21, 1935 — September 16, 2022

Raymond Henry Bailey, of Royse City Texas went home to be with the Lord on September 16th, 2022. Raymond was born on August 21st, 1935, to Earl Raymond and Dora Mae Bailey in Healdton, Oklahoma. He was second of six children.

Raymond was married to his high school sweetheart / the love of
his life Wanda on April 7th, 1957; they were married for sixty-five
years and had six children.

He graduated from Graham High School, after graduation he
served in the US Navy for four years as an Airborne Early
Warning Radar Operator. After the Navy he then went on to
attend Oklahoma Baptist University and Arlington Baptist College.
He then became the pastor of Hart Avenue Baptist Church in
Wilmer Texas. He was also the associate pastor of Calvary Baptist
Temple, Emmanuel Baptist and Jupiter Road Baptist.
He was the Executive Director of Dallas Life Foundation for
twenty-seven years. During his time at DLF he was also the
pastor of Graham Baptist Church. This is the church that he went
to as a child, and he also preached his first sermon there when he
was seventeen. The Chapel at DLF was named The Ray Bailey
Chapel and is still named that today.

One of his greatest blessings was winning people to the Lord. He won many men,
women and children to the Lord throughout his ministry.
After he retired from DLF he went on to be the pastor of Faith
Baptist Church in Quinlan Texas. He then become the pastor of
First Baptist Church of Fate where he retired from the ministry.

The Lord, preaching the gospel and his family meant more to him
than anything else in the world. Anyone who knew Raymond
knew that he was the most loving spouse, father and grandfather
a family could ever ask for.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents Earl Raymond
and Dora Mae, his two sisters Bonnie and Patsy and his son
Michael Raymond. He is survived by his wife Wanda, his children;
Greg and Shelley Bailey of Plano Texas, Tony and Teresa Bailey of
Nevada Texas, Rayma and Robert Jordan of Royse City Texas,
Jennie and Ronnie Brock of Royse City Texas, Joe and Sheila
Bailey of Walnut Shade, Missouri and daughter in law Teresa
Bailey of Arlington Texas, eighteen grandkids, lots of great
grandkids and great great grandkids.
