Ralph E. (Bud) Rodgers, 90, passed away on January 3, 2012. He was born February 20, 1921 in Cape Girardeau, MO to William Henry and Dorothy (Henson) Rodgers. Bud married Dorothy Slinkard February 17, 1944. Bud served his country in WWII as a U.S. Marine in the South Pacific. He moved his family to Dallas, Texas in 1954. After the war he followed his father into the shoe manufacturing business and later on his own as an independent manufactures representative in the leather and apparel industry. He was a member and past master of the Roy Stanley Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents William Henry and Dorothy (Henson) Rodgers, sister Marilyn Jamison, and son Robert E. (Bob) Rodgers. Bud is survived by his wife Dorothy S. Rodgers of 67 years, son Steve Rodgers and wife Carol of Marble Falls, Tx, grandchildren , Stacy M. Rodgers and Jennifer N. Rodgers, both of Austin, Kristy Beyer and husband Brett Beyer of Horseshoe Bay, Tx, Jackie Rodgers of Rosanky, Tx, Will Rodgers and wife Lisa of DeQueen, AR, and great grandchildren, Brody Beyer of Horseshoe Bay, Tx and Elena Rodgers of DeQueen, AR.

A memorial service will be held, Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 10:00am at Eastgate Funeral Home Chapel, 1910 Eastgate Drive, Garland, Tx 75041. His remains will rest at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
