Paul Thomas Kime

Paul T. Kime, age 91, passed away peacefully at his home in McKinney Texas on Thursday September 21, 2023. Always quick to smile, Paul was a devoted and loving husband, father, and proud grandfather. He is survived by his caring wife of 68 years, Gladys, his three children Chris Kime and wife Regina Jamison of Dallas, Kelly Kime Elliott and husband John Elliott of Virginia and Michael Kime and wife Leslie Holman Kime of Prosper. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Michael Elliott and Krysten Elliott who fondly referred to him as “Dutch.” With his Pennsylvania roots, “Uncle Sonny” will also be remembered by his nephews, nieces and extended family in Altoona. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul S., mother Ruth, and sisters Jean Stein and Audrey Kenny also of Altoona Pa.
Born in Cresson Pennsylvania, Paul “Cotton” Kime excelled in football and basketball at Cresson High School and proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean war. After graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in economics, he had a long career in banking beginning with Michigan National Bank in Lansing, Michigan.  He moved his family to Baytown, Texas in 1966 where he took a job at First National Bank on Texas Avenue.   After working many years at First National, he accepted a position at Regan National Bank in Houston, until retirement.   He truly enjoyed his career in banking as well as golfing, sports and a good book.
The family expresses sincere thanks to Amity hospice for their attentive care and support for the short time needed. He will have a private military honors burial at the DFW National Cemetery.
