Oscar Alvarez Rodriguez

Mr. Oscar Alvarez Rodriguez, age 87, of Prosper, Texas, passed away June2, 2012, in McKinney, Texas. Mr. Rodriguez was born November 3, 1933, In Monterrey, Mexico to Mauro and Maria Rodriguez. He married Anita Garza on June 13, 1961 in McKinney, Texas. Mr. Rodriguez was a strong Christian man and a member of First Baptist Church in McKinney. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed going out to breakfast every morning at the Cotton Gin Caf. Mr. Rodriguez has been a resident of Prosper for over 50 years. He always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger. Mr. Rodriguez will be missed by everyone who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Anita Rodriguez of Prosper, Texas, sons Moses Rodriguez of Prosper, Texas, Adam Rodriguez (Emilie), of Melissa, Texas, and Philip Rodriguez (Margarita), of Keller, Texas, daughter Anita Pierson (Todd) of Prosper, grandchildren Benjamin and Alex Rodriguez of McKinney, Dalton Rodriguez of Keller, Abigail, Brijida and Axis Pierson, all of Prosper, Texas, Alexander Rodriguez of Melissa, brother Mauro Rodriguez of Denton, Texas and numerous other loving family members and friends. Oscar was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Felipe, Aurturo, Noe and Ector Rodriguez, and his sister Consuelo Rodriguez. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on June 6, 2012, at Charles W. Smith Funeral Home in McKinney, Texas. The Reverend Dennis C. Pierson officiated. The family received friends during a visitation that began at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, June 5, at the funeral home.
