Nancy Anne Briley

November 20, 1947 — April 2, 2024

Mesquite

Nancy Briley went to her heavenly home on April 2, 2024. She was born Nancy Anne Morris on November 20, 1947, in Madison, Wisconsin, to Robert Dale and Mary Ann Morris. She lived in Midwest City, Oklahoma; Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin; and eventually moved to Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Bryan Adams High School in 1965 and married Lewis Carroll Briley on July 3, 1969. They had four daughters: Sarah Ybarra, Jennifer Faust, Ashley Messer, and Laura Vaughn.

Nancy’s life revolved around her family. She loved cooking for them, was a talented cake artist, and had a keen eye for photography. Her favorite people call her Gammy. A member of Bruton Road Christian Church for many years, she sang in the choir. She enjoyed music of all kinds and taught herself how to play guitar in her 60’s.

Most of all, she loved Jesus and spent her life shining His light to everyone she met. She is survived by her four daughters; her sons-in-law Eliseo Ybarra, Carl Faust, Kevin Messer and John Vaughn; her grandchildren, Abigail, Nathan, Michael Alexander, Rachel, Janie, Julie, and Benjamin; her brother William Morris and his wife Deborah; her sisters-in-law Carolyn Morris and Bonnie Morris; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Robert Dale Jr. and James Alan Morris; and her precious granddaughter Kristin Faith Ybarra.
