Melissa Beth Price

Melissa (Missy) Beth Price passed away suddenly at home on July 23rd, 2023 at the age of 52. 

Missy was born September 4th, 1970 in Compton, California to parents Michael and Barbara Marts.

Missy split her childhood between Show Low Arizona and Olathe Kansas where she made many longtime friends.

Missy married her husband Rick in 1988 and gave birth to her first son Richard III (Richbo) shortly after. She and Richbo followed Rick to Germany during his time in the military where she gave birth to a second child, a daughter, Holly.

A decade later she gave birth to another son, Derek. 

Missy worked in the home mortgage business for most of her life, beginning her career as a receptionist in a temporary position in the early 1990s.  Through sheer determination and tenacity, and of course possessing a brilliant mind for the business, she steadily climbed through the ranks to director of compliance at her second home, Southwest Funding. She had higher goals, and she would have achieved them, no doubt. 

Missy was one of a kind, her personality was big, many who met her were initially a little intimidated by her bluntness. She had a huge heart; it didn’t take long to realize she was a beautiful soul with wisdom and wit to spare. You couldn’t help but respect her and want to be her friend. Everyone she met has a story. 

Missy was loved by many, but none loved her more than her husband Rick. She was the light of his life, a beacon and companion, best friend, and trusted confidante. 

Missy was fiercely loyal and protective of both family and friends. She would think nothing of risking a felony for those she loved. Missy was drawn to books and movies where honor and bravery were central to the story. She was a defender of the vulnerable and an enemy of all bullies. 

There’s so much more that a mere obituary could never do justice. 

Missy is survived by her husband Rick, son Richard, daughter Holly, son Derek, grandchildren Lilly, Jayla, Peyton, Abby, Mother Barbara, sister Kim, sister Julie and many others who will never be the same.

Missy is preceded in death by her father Mick, stepfather Fred, father-in-law Richard, mother-in-law Alice, and brother Matthew.
