Mary Frances Benjamin

Fran passed quietly at her home in Sachse, Texas, the morning of October 11,
2022.
Fran was born in Hodge, Louisiana August 6, 1939 to Simeon Norred and
Mary Norred (Duncan). She had one sister, Marion Ruth.
Her marriage to Donald R. (Ben) Benjamin began May 13, 1962. During their
57 year marriage they raised 8 children, Victor, Linda, Jim, Madonna, Patsy, Gwen,
Molly and Alice. Together with Ben they welcomed 15 grandchildren and 29 great
grandchildren.
Fran traveled extensively during her career as an Economist with the Bureau of
Labor Statistics. She continued that travel on weekends, vacations and well into
retirement. Those travels covered a good part of the country from Key West all
the way to Alaska. The view changed from the front window of a Jaguar to a
VW Bus and later to a Winnebago and tent flaps.
When she was not traveling her true passion was nurturing and caring for her
large extended family. She was a true matriarch.
Between work, family and travel Fran managed to squeeze in a Bachelor's Degree
in Economics from SMU.
Fran had a look and a smile she gave you when you walked into her home, or she
into yours, that said you were the most important person in the place. She will be
missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday October 19th , 2022 from 11:00 AM to
1:00 PM at Charles W. Smith and Sons in Sachse.
Burial will be Thursday October 20, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Dallas Fort Worth
National Cemetery located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
