Joni Beckler was born on October 7, 1932, in Covington, KY to Joseph John Schreiber and Charlotte Schulz Schreiber. Joni grew up in Cinncinati, OH alongside her brother Richard Schreiber and sister Cheryl Schreiber.
Joni was granted her angel wings peacefully on November 14, 2022 at 90 years old, while surrounded by family and under the care of Faith Presbyterian Hospice. Her passing was preceded by her parents, her husband Nelson Charles Beckler, eldest daughter Jonelle Beckler Ramsey, second eldest daughter Terri Beckler Bishop, and her brother Richard Schreiber.
Joni is survived by her children, Kelly Beckler Crenshaw (CE), David Beckler (Leslie), Donna Beckler Decker (Michael Decker), Son in Law David Ramsey, her sister, Cheryl Sepulveda (Willie), her 10 grandchildren, Joshua Ramsey (Lynette), Daniel Ramsey (Amanda), Matthew Ramsey (Tayler), Bridgette Beckler Hussein (Ayman), Haley Beckler, Ava Beckler, Chelsea Macrae Stewart, Jacob Crenshaw (Marissa Gomez, fiance), Madison Beckler, Kendall Decker, her 11 great-grandchildren, Emma Ramsey, Alyson Ramsey, Eli Ramsey, Dakota Ramsey, Hayden Ramsey, Easton Ramsey, Luke Ramsey, Ethan Ramsey, Eric Ramsey, Harper Stewart, Noah Hussein, her Nephew Joey Sepulveda (Niki), Great Nieces Maia Sepulveda (Holden), Addison Sepulveda, Great Nephew, Nicholas Sepulveda, and many more nieces and nephews.
Joni graduated in 1950 from Madeira High School in Madeira, Ohio, and attended college at Miller Business College. She married her wonderful husband Nelson Charles Beckler in 1951, they celebrated 58 years together before his passing in 2009. They welcomed 5 beautiful children, Jonelle Elizabeth Beckler (1958), Terri Ann Beckler (1959), Kelly Marie Beckler (1963), David Nelson Beckler (1966), Donna Mary Beckler (1968). They made their way to Dallas, TX in 1965, settled in Lake Highlands for 32 years. Their home in Lake Highlands brought many special memories with family and friends. They were very involved in their church at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, where they were founders of the church. So many lifelong friends were made at St. Patrick's church (Conway's, Hank's, Cooper's, Miller's, Hill's, Heruska's, Faber's, Mosmon's, Park's, and many more.
Joni worked at Southwest Seafood Sales in 1973, She started her own personal Recruiting business in 1980. She later worked at Neiman Marcus where she retired from Neiman's in 1999. She was also proud to say she took on racecar driving for a few years as well – if you ever rode with her, you wouldn't be surprised.
Joni and Nelson than settled in Sachse, TX in 2000 close by their daughter Donna. Joni was heavily involved in raising her granddaughter, Madison Beckler and made many memories with each of her grandchildren who all cherished each moment together and will always hold a special bond.
In Joni's later life she enjoyed reading numerous hard back books and on her Kindle. She loved to tell everyone about her books and talked about them as if they were her best friend. She also loved Ride TV, watching the bulls and horse races who she knew all by their name. Joni's most recent favorite show is Yellowstone, she's watched all series over and over and knows them by heart. Although they may not know it, the cast was all part of the family as well.
She was loved by so many, witty as ever, funny and quite entertaining on social media, she loved everyone, and nobody was a stranger to her. Joni, "Mom", "Grammy", and "Grandma" will be forever missed.
