Maria Cristina Lopez

December 16, 1937 — July 21, 2023

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Maria Cristina Lopez, who

passed away on July 21, 2023, at the age of 85.

Born on December 16, 1937, in Edinburg, Texas to Adelaido and Esther Alfaro, she was a sister to

Augustine Alfaro, Cecelio Alfaro, Antonio Alfaro, Eva Alfaro, and two surviving sister’s Martha Olmos and

Herminia Alfaro.

Maria was a wife to her late husband Juan S. Lopez, and a devoted mother to her five children.

She is survived by her daughter, Diana Lopez, daughter Dalia Figueroa and husband George Figueroa,

daughter Delia Bravo and husband Andres Bravo, son John Lopez and son Albert Lopez, wife Rae Lopez;

15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, who will miss her dearly.

Maria Cristina Lopez lived a fulfilling life and was a woman who had a passion for shopping, cooking and

family gatherings. She could light up the room and lived for the holidays. She was a giving and loving

Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She might not give you the shirt off her back, but she

would take you to the store and buy you a shirt, pants and maybe some shoes.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, from 5pm to 8pm with a Rosary at 7pm.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 2pm at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home,

located at 601 S. Tennessee St., McKinney, Texas 75069 followed by a burial service at Pecan Grove

Cemetery.
