Margaret Wilhelmina Johnson was born December 23, 1913 in St. Boniface, Manitoba Canada. She and her siblings grew-up in Minneapolis Minnesota with their parents John and Augusta Anderson. Margaret passed away on March 8, 2011 at age 97. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an angel that touched everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52-years Frank Johnson of Eunice Louisiana and is survived by her daughter Denise and family, son Bruce and family, two brother-in-laws, eight-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and thirteen nieces and nephews.

Margaret worked for the U.S. Treasury Department in St. Paul Minnesota in the early 1940’s. During World War II she served as Yeoman 1st Class in the U.S. Department of Navy stationed in San Francisco California where she met her husband Frank Johnson at a USO dance. After an honorable discharge she married Frank on December 14, 1946. Frank and Margaret lived in Pleasant Hill California, had two children son Bruce and daughter Denise, until transferred to Garland, Texas in 1959.

Margaret was a stay-at-home Mom very active in her children’s life from Cub Scout Den Mother and Troop Leader in the Girl Scouts until the early 1970’s. She then went to work for SEARS in catalogue sales until 1986 when her husband retired from the Paint Industry. They moved from Garland to Burnet Texas to a beautiful lake house on Lake Buchanan. Wonderful memories were made there with their children and grand children, from vegetable gardening, fishing and beautiful sunsets. After the death of her husband, Margaret moved back to Garland in 2003 to be close to her family and friends.From 2003 at age 89 years young, Margaret lived in Garland, she was a blessing every day to her daughter Denise. Margaret was the most pleasant, loving, selfless person to every one who crossed her path. She enjoyed playing Dominoes, Bingo, and reading every section of the newspaper, she went to the Texas State Fair every year and watched Wheel of Fortune every day.

Margaret was an inspiration to everyone who was touched by her beautiful smile and caring personality. She made this world a better place. Her family enjoyed living a full life with her, but will always miss her. The family wishes to express appreciation to all of her caregivers during the last years of her life.

A Memorial service for Margaret will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church and School, 6131 E. Lovers Lane Dallas TX. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church Music Ministry in memory of Margaret Johnson.
