Lawrence Smith

Lawrence K. Smith "Larry" aka "Poppa" was born February 12th, 1954 and passed away at his home with his family on September 3rd, 2020, he was preceded in death by his Parents, Jerry W. Smith and Anita Floyd Smith.

Larry was born in Dallas, TX and lived in Oak Cliff until the second grade. Larry's family moved to an up and coming community in Plano where he lived until 1975, he then moved to Garland, TX where he resided for the next 45 years. Larry was employed at Rockwell Collins for 41 years, where he served as the Union President for the last 13 years of his career. Larry loved spending his weekends at the lake with his wife and family. Above all else, Larry was a family man. He was a mentor and advisor to his children and grandchildren; his legacy will live on through them all.

Larry is survived by his wife, Cindy S. R. Smith of 32 years, 4 children, James J. Smith and wife Christina of The Netherlands, Jason C. Smith and wife Kristal Ann of Garland, TX, B. Aaron Rosenbaum of Dallas, TX and Miranda R. Lankford and husband Jared of Wylie, TX, 9 grandchildren Hudson, Emerson, Zayne, Dax and Oliver Smith, Levi and Alexander Rosenbaum, Riley Sutton and Kamden Lankford.

Funeral services will be held at Freeman Heights Baptist Church, 1120 N. Garland Ave., Garland, TX. 75040 at 10am September 9, 2020. Officiating Rev. Lawrence Dale Hobbs
