Laura Bell Wester
1940-2024
Laura Wester, 84, born in Greenville, Mississippi on January 1, 1940, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 2, 2024, surrounded by family and loved ones. At the age of 19, Laura, also known as “Mo” by her grandchildren, married John William Wester and remained married for 27 years. She was witty, smart, and had a heart that loved beyond measure. She didn’t know a stranger and wanted to make sure that everyone had the opportunity to hear about her Heavenly Father, proudly witnessing to as many people as possible, without hesitation. She treated everyone as family, extending grace and compassion to those in need. She loved and cherished everyone as they were, constantly putting others before her, without expectations or asking for anything in return. She was a true example of what it meant to be Christ like. Laura attended Rodgers Baptist Church in Garland, TX and could usually be found in the nursery or helping those in need.
Laura is preceded in death by her mother, Edna Copeland, and father, George Everett Cooper. She is survived by her sister, Daisy Thayer, 4 stepsisters and her stepmother. She leaves behind 5 children, John Wester, Ronnie Wester, Deborah Wester, Teresa Wadle (Gregory) and Amy Greene (Mark), 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Laura will forever be remembered for her unwavering faith and desire to lead as many people as possible to Christ.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home, located in Lavon, TX. on Saturday, March 9th, 2024 at 2pm.
