Kimberly Kay Howe

Kimberly Kay Jones Howe "Berly" was born on June 14, 1957 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Gerald "Jere" and Colleen "Kay" Jones. They moved to Texas during her early years where she grew up 2nd of 3 children in Garland. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 in Wylie, TX were she was a current resident.
Kim enjoyed watching and playing tennis and football (Go Cowboys!); riding horses and competing in barrel racing events, and demonstrating her clarinet playing skills for the school marching band.
After graduating from South Garland High School, Class of 1975, she began her career at Southwestern Life Insurance Company and retired in 2019 from Amica Insurance.
Kim preferred not to be the focus of attention, but felt more comfortable in a supportive, behind-the-scenes role, although she had a competitive side that would
surface during any competition, games or sports. She was loyal to her loved ones. She enjoyed cultivating qualitative not quantitative relationships with the people she worked with, eating Mexican food on a regular basis and spoiling her grandkids!
Seems like every generation in the family wanted to call her by their own unique pet-name from siblings lovingly referring to her as Berly, grandkids affectionately calling her Grams, and great-grandkids naming her Grace. It didn't matter the title she would answer to all.
Kim is survived by her children; daughter, Misty M. Foley and husband PJ of Wylie and son, Michael L. Howe of Denton. Also by her grandchildren, Braden Foley, Leah and husband Isaac Soto, Holli Foley, Lauren Foley, Kacey Foley and Lanie Foley; her great-grandchildren, Brinley and Liam Soto; her father, Jere Jones of Rowlett; her brother, Jeff Jones and wife Kathie of Rowlett; her sister, Karla Schilling and husband Jeff of Rowlett; her niece and nephew, Amber Anderson and Nicholas Schilling, and her great nieces, Ava and Aubrey Diesch.
Preceded in death by mother Kay Jones; April 30, 2012 and niece Samantha Schilling; December 28, 2014.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, September 10th at 2pm at Charles W. Smith and Sons Chapel located at 2925 5th Street in Sachse, TX 75048.
