Kelly Wayne Morrison

November 19, 1959 — May 25, 2024

Kelly Wayne Morrison, born on November 19, 1959, in St. Johns Hospital Tulsa, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away on May 25, 2024, at the age of 64 in Plano, Texas.

Kelly was a friendly and outgoing individual who cherished his family and friends deeply.  In his early adulthood, he was actively involved in the Plano Jaycees and was part of the "Cripple Creek Cowboys Company" alongside his best friend, John Flentes, where they entertained audiences with gun fights and cowboy antics.  Kelly had a passion for guns and had a notable collection.  His hobbies included gun collecting, Lional Railroad Trains, and traveling.  

In his career, Kelly dedicated 14 years to Texas Instruments, served at the Plano Police Department, and worked as a Computer Technician at Pier One Imports in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Kelly is survived by his son Blake A. Morrison, his wife Joan Elaine Sansom-Morrison of Ft. Worth, Texas, his father Billy D. Morrison of Sachse, Texas, his brother Cory Morrison of Dallas, Texas, and his uncle Don (Francis) Morrison of Bullard, Texas, along with numerous cousins and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gwendolyn (Gaye) Morrison, his brother Matthew Morrison, his grandparents, Mr. H.O. and Carrie Green, and his uncle Ronnie Green.

Kelly's education journey included attending Parkcrest Elementary School and Sam Houston Jr. High in Garland, and graduating from North Garland High School.  He furthered his education at Richland Community College.  

Kelly attended Altamesa Church of Christ where he assisted with running the light program.  

The family would like to express their appreciation to Doctors and Nurses at the Baylor Scott and White Hospital Centennial in Frisco and Titi at Goodness Home Care.  A special thank you to John Flentes for being his friend and caregiver.  

A Celebration of Life in honor of Kelly W. Morrison will be held at Axe United Methodist Church,  1700 W. Kingsley Rd., Garland, Tx 75041 on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 2:00 pm.

Contributions in his memory can be made to Axe UMC or the American Kidney Foundation, or a charity of choice.
