Kathy Ann Leonard

June 19, 1962 — October 24, 2021

Kathy Ann (Dunlevy) Leonard (born June 19, 1962), 59, of Garland, TX went to Heaven on October 24, 2021, after a brief illness. She was united in marriage to Joseph Russell Leonard on April 11, 1992, in Dallas – Fort Worth, TX.

Kathy lived her younger years in the upper Northeast of the United States. She was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where many of her Dunlevy relatives remain today. Her father's education, receiving his CPA and Masters in the area saw them move from East Amherst, NY to Carrollton, TX where her mother
also started her own house-building business. Kathy graduated from high school in Carrollton, TX. Kathy had her Dad's curly hair, height, and smiling/giggly laugh while she had her Mom's personality and strong Hungarian heritage.

Kathy fell in love with Texas, and she remained here the rest of her life. She graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1996. Kathy worked in different industries while predominantly doing programming and project management for the companies she supported. She was a team player, always willing to help others out while doing her own work.

Kathy was active in the Boy Scouts of America and church along with her husband Joseph. Kathy's hobby was her family first and foremost. She loved supporting them through the various projects her husband undertook and her son's Christopher's achievements. Her friends will fondly recall the walks around the neighborhood with her and the lovely chats that would occur. Her support and caring will be missed. She also had a strong compassion for rescuing Shelties, a Shetland Sheepdog mix and Murphy (along with many that preceded him) is lucky to have found such a kind home. Kathy was a wonderful role model as a wife, daughter, mother, friend, and child of God.

Kathy is survived by her son Christopher, Garland, TX, parents Edward and Roza Dunlevy of Carrolton, TX, relations in Pennsylvania as well.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Joseph Leonard of Garland, TX, her in-laws Ted and Patricia Leonard.
