Kathryn Ann Rumbaugh

It is with great sadness that the family of Kathryn Ann Rumbaugh announces her passing on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the age of 71.

Kathy was born on August 25, 1950 in Humboldt, Nebraska. She grew up in Howe, Nebraska and attended grade school there. She graduated from Southeast Nebraska Consolidated High School in 1968. Soon after she moved to Earth, Texas to work with friends. After moving to Lubbock, Texas in 1972 she worked at Furrs Kitchen and then in 1973 began working at the new Texas Instruments plant. In 1999 she transferred to the TI in Dallas, Texas and retired from there after 40 years of employment.

In 1978 she welcomed her son, Thomas, and was a devoted mother. She was active in her church, Forrest Heights Methodist Church. She enjoyed visiting and delivering flowers to fellow members who were homebound. She loved to crochet. Every new baby she knew received a beautiful hand-made blanket.

Kathy is preceded in death by her grandparents; John and Ethel Flies, Everett and Anna Rumbaugh, parents; Harold and Laura Mae Rumbaugh, siblings; Tom Rumbaugh and Jacqueline Mangnall, and brother-in-law, Francis Mangnall.

She will be missed by: her loving son, Thomas Rumbaugh; her sister, Mary Jean Rumbaugh; her half-sisters Deanna (Randy) Sikyta and Susan Jones; her sister-in-law Peggy Mangnall; her granddaughter Mary Jane Rumbaugh; her great-grandsons Jasper and Michael; her nieces and nephew Laura Wooten, Kendra (Lyle) McMann, Jana (Jeremy) Gerdes, Richie (Lori) Mangnall, and Jennifer (James) Elting, along with many other family and friends.

Memorial services will be Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Eastgate Funeral Home. Her inurnment will take place at a later date.
