Judith (Judy) Gayle Ramsey Groves passed away peacefully in her home she beautifully decorated with her family by her side on May 23, 2023 after a long battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. She was born in Dallas, TX on November 23,1943 to Victor Virgil Ramsey and Maxine Wynn Ramsey. Judy was raised in Garland, TX, and accepted Christ as her Savior in her early teens. Judy, her parents and siblings Victor and Jane are Charter Members of Eastern Hill Baptist Church, where she served faithfully until moving to Heath, TX where she joined First Baptist Rockwall.
Judy graduated from Garland High School in 1962 and attended Texas A&M University.
After GHS graduation she married Jerry Wayne Groves and spent 2 years in Germany where Jerry’s Army unit was deployed. Judy and Jerry were happily married for over 60 years. They enjoyed traveling, church and water skiing.
Judy adored her two granddaughters Macy and Ella and enjoyed having “Granny time” with them and cheering them on at their dance recitals and softball games.
Judy was a devout Christian who served the Lord by teaching Bible Study Fellowship for 22 years. Most recently Judy kept the prayer list for her Sunday School class at First Baptist Rockwall.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Victor Ramsey and Maxine Ramsey and her brother Victor Ramsey, Jr. Judy is survived by her husband Jerry Groves; her daughter Jill Richardson, husband Charles, daughter Macy Koll and husband Christian; her daughter Amy Sablatura, husband Dwayne (Sab) and daughter Ella; her sister and husband Jane and Kenneth Post; her aunt Loretta Wynn and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Rockwall in her honor.
