Joseph Marshall Grant

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Joseph M. Grant (Joe) our loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to all whose lives he touched.  He left us peacefully at his residence in Lavon, Texas on November 30, 2022.  He was 83 years old.

A direct descendent of Ulysses S. Grant , Joe was born in Deport, Texas on September 7, 1939.  He witnessed incredible changes to the world, having served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.  He married his wife, Diane Burns, on June 10, 1982 and shared a loving 40 years of marriage.  He was the father of Tonya Burch of Rowlett, TX, Debbie Patty of Lavon, TX and grandfather to Brittany, Garret, Taylor, and Erin.

He was predeceased by his parents, Mavis and Marshall Grant of Greenville, TX, brothers George Grant of Honolulu, HI and Carroll Grant of Salt lake City, UT, and his loving son Mack Hunter Grant.

Most of all he loved his family and instilled in them strong values that have served them well.  He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
