Joseph William Gambrell

Joseph William (Joe Bill) Gambrell, 69, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2010 in Plano, Texas. He was born in Mineral Wells, Texas to Louis and Louise Gambrell, on July 31, 1941. Joe married his high school sweetheart, Millie Ann Walker, on August 15th, 1964. After graduating Texas Christian University he went to work for Texas Instruments where he worked for over 30 years. In September of 1999, at the age of 58, he retired as Division Controller at T.I. Joe has always had a passion for photography, starting as the school photographer at Mineral Wells High School. After retirement, he and Millie travelled across the country photographing wildlife in many of the National Parks. Yellowstone was always his favorite and was the site of the infamous 23 mile hike across the Upper Basin with his brother and two sons. His photography has won several awards and been published in magazines. He was an honest man with great integrity as well as a wonderful sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his brother David Gambrell, and his Step-Mother, Aline Gambrell. He is survived by his wife Millie Ann Gambrell of Plano, son Joe Curtis Gambrell and his wife Kersten of Mckinney, son Andrew St.Clair Gambrell and his wife Leslie of Frisco, granddaughter Isabella St.Clair Gambrell, and brother Jan Gambrell and his wife Betty of Kerrvillie, TX. A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, November 19, 2010 at Woodland Park Cemetery, 2600 S Oak Ave, Mineral Wells, TX 76067.
