Joan Louise Irek
November 11, 1930 — June 3, 2022
At the age of 91, Joan passed from this life on June 3rd, 2022 with her family by her side. Joan was born in Buffalo, NY to Gomer Link and Carrie (Heil) Link, sister to Betty Patterson, and Ben Link who proceeded her in death.
Joan was a devoted and loving wife for fifty-eight years to Eugene Irek who proceeded her in death. Joan was a loving mother to Nancy Irek, Paul Irek and spouse Lisa, Judy Vizina, David Irek and spouse Gwlynda, and Bruce Aiken and spouse Carmen. Joan was a grandmother to 12 beautiful grandchildren and 17 wonderful great grandchildren.
Joan was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom providing all the love and care only a mom can give. Joan had a servant's heart as she always put everyone else first. Joan worked various jobs in her life including, Office Typist, Retail Sales, and Medical Transcription. Joan and her husband, Eugene, were most proud of her work raising their children teaching the value and love of God, family and friends.
After her husband Gene retired, they enjoyed spending winters in Florida with family and friends. She always enjoyed gardening and had a great love for animals, especially cats.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sachse.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022, with a viewing at 1:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home 2925 5th St. Sachse, Texas 75048.
A celebration of life will immediately follow at First United Methodist Church Sachse, 1520 Blackburn Road, Sachse, Tx 75048.
