Jerry W. Smith

Jerry William Smith was born June 24, 1940, in McKinney, Texas to William H. (Buddy) & Florene Smith and went to be with the Lord on June 20, 2021. He was raised in McKinney and graduated from McKinney High school in 1959.

On October 17, 1962, Jerry married Sharon Kay Mitchell in Murphy, Texas. Together they had five children.

Jerry was a Master Mechanic and taught automotive Mechanics at McKinney High School from 1976 until his retirement in 2002.

Jerry enjoyed building race cars, playing his guitar, singing and mentoring his students. For many years Jerry was a member of Southside Assembly of God in McKinney, Texas

After retirement Jerry enjoyed ministering in music with his wife and friends at nursing homes and churches.

Most of all, Jerry loved serving the Lord and providing for his family. He gave his family so many great memories and he will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and survived by his wife, Sharon Smith; two sons, Kenneth Judd & wife Renee of McKinney, Texas, William Smith & wife Virginia of Edmond, Oklahoma; & three daughters, Anne Smith of McKinney, Texas, Deanna Ponse & husband Bobby of McKinney, Texas, & Sheila Smith of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Amanda Holmes, Andrew Gialdini, Larry Walden, Billy Walker, Draco Judd, Braeden Ponse, Zander Ponse, Abigail Smith, Audra Smith, & Evan Smith; and great-grandchildren, Caleb Kleeman, Elah Holmes, Luke Holmes, & Isabel Gialdini.
