Jerry Dean Fry

June 17, 1961 — May 1, 2022

Jerry Fry a man full of "good ideas" and "perfection" made his last choices to go out the way he wanted on Sunday, May 1st,2022. His soul and spirit peacefully departed to heaven. In January he came down with Covid that exasperated some underlying health conditions. After battling through kidney failure and dialysis for months he was ready to go home and rest.
God broke the mold and maybe his mother Lois, when Jerry was born on June 17th ,1961. Jerry being the youngest of two, loved to torment his older sister Betty. The two could fight like cats and dogs. They have left holes in walls, broke some teeth, and landed cars in ditches. Luckily for them both, they had their father Dean to bail them out of trouble.
Jerry went on to meet the love of his life, Zelma, when he was attending college in Centerville, Iowa. Zelma would tell you she wasn't very fond of him at first, but he won her over. The two of them went on to marry in the fall of 1983. They started their journey together and moved to Garland, Texas. Jerry got a job working as an electrician for Fox Electric. Little did he know at the time that this would turn in to an incredible 40-year career. He worked hard and played hard. Jerry loved hunting, cars, and spending time with friends and family. Though Jerry and Zelma never had any kids of their own they loved their nieces and nephews with all their hearts. Jerry spoiled all of them with go carts, dirt bikes, trips, and supported them in everything they did. Jerry and Zelma were also blessed by numerous extended families, becoming known as Uncle Jerry and Aunt Zelma, to all of them. His generous heart and smart-alecky personality left behind many Fry-isms. His home was always open to all. He truly loved being surrounded by good people and having a good time. Which as many know, left skid marks from burnouts all over the driveway and many sets of new tires purchased. He had lots of stories to share from his many hunting trips with the boys from Fox, his safaris to Africa with Zelma, and enthusiasm of muscle cars especially MOPARS. He always knew how to deliver a punch line. Jerry has touched the lives of many and leaves behind so many memories.
Education and sharing knowledge were a highlight of Jerry's life! So in lieu of flowers, Zelma Fry, wife, would like contributions made in Jerry's name to Zelma Fry. All the contributions will be used to establish scholarships at a few high schools toward the Electrical and Medical Trades.
