Age 77, passed from this life January 17, 2011 in Rowlett, Texas. He was born August 23, 1933 in Longview, Texas to Colquitt and Hazel Mae (Couch) Loyd who have preceded him.
After Jackie's education he joined the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. He worked 44 years for Sherwin-Williams Paint Company in Garland, Texas. Jackie is a member of the First Baptist Church of Lavon. He married his lifelong sweetheart Beatrice (Dillard) Loyd and have been married 56 years.
Jackie is survived by his wife Beatrice, sons Chris Loyd and wife Melissa and David Loyd and wife Donna, grandchildren David Elliott, Ashley Nichelle and Christopher Phillip, great-grandson Landon Alexander Stephens, and sister Peggy Collier.
VISITATION will be Wednesday, January 19, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home in Sachse. FUNERAL SERVICE will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday January 20, 2011 at Charles W. Smith and Sons, Sachse Chapel, 2925 Fifth St Sachse, Texas 75048, 972-414-5050. MILITARY HONORS SERVICE will be 1:00 P.M. at DFW National Cemetery. Reverand Clint Bratcher will be officiating the services.
In lieu of flowers memorial conntributions may be given for First Baptist Church in Lavon.
