JC Miller Jr. (Johnny Miller)

JC was born December 18, 1952 in Denton TX to JC Miller, Sr. & Eva Eddene Miller. He moved to Garland as a small child and lived there most of his life. He passed away due to Covid-19 complications on Jan 6, 2021, at the age of 68.

He is proceeded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Melissa Ann Miller.

He graduated from South Garland High School in 1971 and entered the US Army a year later. After the Army, he attended college and began his career at Collins Radio/Rockwell Int'l/Alcatel where he worked for 25 years and another 15 years at DRS Infrared Technologies. He retired in September of 2019.

He enjoyed doing fun activities with his family, church and friends. Over the years he played softball, loved going to the lake to ski or fish, snow skiing and this past year during retirement he got to enjoy going camping in his travel trailer. He always was ready to go on a trip and try new adventures. His favorite past time was getting to spend time with his grandchildren; he loved playing and visiting with them.

He was raised going to church where he gave his life to the Lord at the age of 6. He met his wife of 40 years at the church they grew up in. For the past 20 years he was an active member of Northlake Baptist Church in Garland where he was a teacher, Deacon, served on numerous committees, and went on many mission trips.

He is survived by his wife, Jerri Miller; children & their spouses, Daniel & Amber Miller, David Miller, Jessica & Kord Chapman; seven grandchildren: Dalton, Colton, Jaycee & Bodhi Miller and Natalie, Jade & Katie Chapman; brother & his wife, Jimmye & Dawn Miller; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Harold & Jean Jacobs; aunt & uncle, Joan & Mark Cohagen and numerous other family members and close friends.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 on January 29, 2021 at Northlake Baptist Church, 1501 N. Country Club Dr., Garland TX. Due to Covid guidelines; in person attendance will be limited to family and a few close friends. The services will be live streamed for those unable to attend at www.nbcgarland.org and on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/northlakebaptist.
