Garland

Hannelore Wittkopp Wright, born May 4, 1941 in Zirndorf, Germany, passed away on November 10, 2023 in route to Methodist Hospital in Richardson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James B. Wright.

She is survived by daughter, Susie Lore Smith, son-in-law, Randy Craig Smith, grandsons, Austin James Smith, Corey Daniel Smith and Jason Ross Smith, great granddaughters, Addisyn Zoey Smith and Dalilah Rose Smith, granddaughter-in-law, Alisha Haines, sisters Erna Roberts and Mary Brown, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She met Wright while he was stationed in Germany with the Army where they married in April of 1960 and had their only child the following October. They came to the states in 1962, where Wright finished his service at Ft. Hood. From there, the family moved to Garland. Hannelore was a hard worker throughout her life in the various jobs she held over her 61 years living in Texas. However, her greatest joy was being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She always went over and above for her family, whether it was attending various sporting events or cooking for the family. It wasn’t uncommon for her to cook entire meals on holidays, making sure everyone got their favorite dish. When she wasn’t being of service to others, she enjoyed trips to the casino. Wright’s family loved her deeply and will miss her forever and always.
