Gloria Carol Spence

Gloria Carol Spence was born on October 7, 1946, in Wylie, Texas to Grady and Ila Ceal Turner. Surrounded by her family, she peacefully passed on March 8th, 2024.

Having a heart for others, she quickly made friends wherever she went. She never met an animal she didn’t love. She treated the family pets like royalty and often took in strays. Her sharp memory and one-of-a-kind sense of humor made her a wonderful storyteller, a true joy to be around. She fiercely loved her family. Her husband, Harold, was her best friend. Having shared 60 years of marriage together, they created a beautiful life with many adventures and wonderful memories. 

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Ila Ceal Turner, and her sister, Wanda Rae Turner. She leaves behind her husband, Harold; her sisters, Alesia Ann Taylor and her husband David, and Gracie Nell Simmons; her brother Larry Turner and his wife Becky; her sister-in-law, Mary Beth Sweeney; her sons, Marcus and his wife Stacy, Shane and his wife Stacey, Dwain and his wife Kayle, and Andy; her grandchildren, Madison, Mackenzie and her husband Neil, Abby and her husband Airon, Skyler, Ethan, Stoney, Blain, and Jesse; and her great-grandchildren, Weston, Lilah, and Caroline.

Memorial  for Carol Spence will be Saturday, April 13, 2024,  2 ’ clock, at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home 2343 Lake Rd. Lavon, TX 75166.
