Faye Nell Gage

Faye Nell Presley Merrell Gage, age 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior, mother, father and brothers May 29, 2021. She died after a short but strong, courageous battle with lung cancer.

Faye was born in Commerce, Texas, April 16, 1940, to Mert W. and Ruby V. Presley. She graduated from Commerce High School in l957 and in her younger days loved to roller skate and bowl. After living several years in Mesquite, she and her husband Bob moved to Nevada, Texas, in l992, where they were active in Faith Family Church and the community. Faye was a strong, classy, and the most stylish lady who loved her family and friends with all her heart. She was the true definition of how to live life to the fullest. To know her was to love her. She was always busy doing something and enjoyed going on vacations with her husband and family. A few of her favorite vacations were snow skiing, going to Europe and cruising. She also loved to shop until she dropped with her favorite granddaughter, loved country dancing and going to Maverick games with her husband, and spending time cooking out at the pool with her beloved daughter and family. Her smile would light up a room and she never met a stranger.

Faye is survived by her loving husband Robert Gage; her one and only daughter, Ranell Merrell Bowren and son-in-law Richard; her most precious and greatly loved granddaughter, Rachel Bowren Kelley and husband Kenneth; sister, Merlene Presley Tidwell; brother, Ray Presley; her two great grandsons who were the light of her life, Easton Kelley and Kade Kelley; step-son Darrell Gage and wife Jaimee; step- grandson Dustin Gage and wife Shelby; brother-in-law, Don Gage and wife Gail; and several cherished nieces and nephews.

Preceding Faye in death are parents, Mert and Ruby Presley and brothers, Roy Gene Presley and Milton Hathaway.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home in Lavon Texas at 10:00 AM, Thursday June 3rd. The funeral will be at 11:00 AM and the interment will follow at 1:00 PM at the Rosemound Cemetery in Commerce, Texas.

Pallbearers are Kenneth Kelley JR, Richard Bowren, Dustin Gage, Darrell Gage, Michael Gage, Derek Tidwell and Ryan Presley.

Faye was an amazing wife, friend, mother, sister, meme, and great grandma and will be greatly missed, but her legacy of love, strength and memories will be cherished forever.
