Ella Louise Roberts

 Ella Louise (Elsey) Roberts, of Mansfield, Texas passed away peacefully on May 12, 2023, at the age of 76. She was born on February 14, 1947, to Ralph Waldo and Nellie Brooks Elsey in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ella was a loving wife and a beautiful mother to her three daughters.

Just eight short days prior to her passing, Ella’s husband, Dick, also passed away. They were high school sweethearts and had been married for 57 years. Also preceding her in death were her parents, one brother and one sister. Ella is survived by her children: Kristi, Karen and her husband Duaine, and Kathryn; her grandchildren: Andrew, Gerard, Jr., and Kynnedi; great grandchildren: Kayden and Karson; and two sisters.

Being a full-time homemaker, came easily to Ella and she genuinely enjoyed it. When the family moved to Texas in 1979 for Dick to attend seminary, she became employed outside of the home to support her husband and family. She worked full-time for five years, until she developed major health issues and was forced to leave her job. Afterwards, her health was never the same.

Some of Ella’s passions included visiting antique stores, painting her husband’s handmade wooden projects, watching her favorite movies with Dick, and going out to eat. Additionally, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Ella will be remembered for her love for her family, and she will live on in our memories.

The viewing will be on May 19, 2023, at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 660 E. Princeton Dr., Princeton, Texas 75407 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at Faith Baptist Church, 1306 N. Sixth St., Princeton, Texas 75407 on May 20, 2023, at 11:00 am. All family and friends are welcome. A meal will be provided at the church following the service.
