Eleanor Bonnell

January 22, 1929 — October 4, 2021

Eleanor Irene Bonnell, age 92, of Allen, Texas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 4, 2021. She was one of eight children born to the late Roman and Lottie (Kowalski) Luczak on January 22, 1929 in Bay City, Michigan. She was a long-standing member of the Evangelical Free Church, serving the Lord in many areas of ministry and singing in the choir. While often passing the time by reading, crocheting and traveling, her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She retired in 1991, after spending most of her life working in Bay City and two moves to Oklahoma and Arkansas. In 1995, she and her husband finally settled in Allen, Texas, where she faithfully attended Grace Church and watched her family grow for 26 years.

She is survived by her husband, Robert, of 74 years; two daughters, Ellen (David) DeWitt of Spring Lake, MI and Cynthia (Harold) Gustafson of Allen, TX; five grandchildren, Rebecca (Chuck) May of Spring Lake, MI, Deborah (Jon) DeLine of Oak Ridge, NC, Sarah (Jeremy) Currie of Ravenna, MI, Benjamin (Jamie) Gustafson of Celina, TX and Bonnie (Rick) Phillips of Lowry Crossing, TX; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Phyllis Monk of Woodworth, LA and many nieces and nephews.

Eleanor was pre-deceased by her parents, her brothers Raymond and Arthur Luczak, and sisters Loretta Whitney, Dolores Kocsis, Delphine Dibernardo, and Constance Lee.

Family members gathered together to celebrate her life at a graveside service lead by Pastor Blair Abbott and laid her to rest at Fitzhugh Cemetery in Lucas, TX.

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39

Memorials may be made to Relational Concepts, the ministry of Dr. David and Ellen DeWitt, at PO. Box 141456, Grand Rapids, MI 49514.
