Edward Bayliss

April 29, 1939 — August 15, 2022

Edward Bayliss, 83, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 15, 2022. He was a disciple of Jesus Christ, a devoted husband, a beloved father and grandfather, and a respected electrical engineer.

Ed grew up in Sheridan, Oregon, and later attended Oregon State University (OSU), where he studied Electrical Engineering and joined the Sigma Pi fraternity. He met the love of his life, Barbara, at OSU and married her in August 1964. Ed's career started at Bell Laboratory in New Jersey. In 1968, he and Barbara moved to Bedford, MA. He worked at MIT Lincoln Labs for over 20 years, focusing on Air Traffic Control Systems. During that time, he became a Christian and an active member of several churches, including Immanuel Baptist, Heritage Park Baptist, and New Colony Baptist. He wanted to be politically engaged and joined the Bedford Republican Party.

In 2005, Ed moved to Heritage Ranch, Fairview, TX, to be closer to his son Don and his family. Ed enjoyed meeting new friends and was elected the third President of the Heritage Ranch Republican Club. He also joined Stonebriar Church in Frisco, TX.

Ed was married for 40 years to the late Barbara Bayliss and is survived by his son Don (Jasmine) Bayliss, his daughter Susan (Aaron) Goodship, and four granddaughters. Ed was a faithful man who loved the Lord, his family, church, and community.

The memorial service is Saturday, September 3, at Heritage Ranch, at 11 AM (CST). Lunch will be served following the service. Please RSVP or request the livestream link at: https://tinyurl.com/edbayliss.
