Donald Warren Congdon

GARLAND, TX – Donald Warren Congdon, Sr. 77, passed away due to Covid-19 complications on January 24, 2021. He was born July 21, 1943 in Dallas, Texas.

Donald graduated from Plano High School. After graduation, he served with the United States Air Force as an electronics maintenance. His military career started in Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi for a year. He transferred to Otis Air Force Base, in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He met the love of his life, Linda L. Allen and they married in 1966 and moved to Uvalde, Texas after his honorable discharge from the Air Force. The family moved to East Dallas and settled in Garland, Texas. Donald worked and retired from Texas Instruments.

Donald was down to earth and always willing to help anyone. He loved his children and enjoyed his grandchildren. Most of all Donald loved his great
grandchildren. Donald was a great dad and the best Pop ever. His heart was full of love for his kids and grandkids, and great grandkids, and they brought happiness to his life.

Donald is survived by: his wife, Linda Congdon; son Donald W. Congdon, Jr. and his wife Beverly Congdon of Mesquite, TX; grandchildren Dean Congdon and Austin Congdon; son Michael S. Congdon and his wife Tona Congdon of Quinlan, TX; grandchildren proceeded in death Sydney Congdon, Rebecca Morrison and her husband T. Roy and their daughter Kairi, and Rachael Harp and her husband Austin and their children Evelyn and Eli; daughter Michelle Paulos of Garland, TX and preceded in death Stephanie Paulos; daughter Stacey Graham of Mesquite, TX; grandchildren Brandon Congdon and his wife Beverly and their daughters Grace and Elizabeth, and Jessica Brunson and her husband Rylie and their children Ellia and Logan. He is also survived by his sisters Joy Starr of Allen, Texas and Laura Dial and her husband Jeff of Pagosa Springs, Colorado. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and close family friends that also call him their bonus dad.

Family will receive friends between 5PM-7PM on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at the Eastgate Funeral Home in Garland.
