Dianne Albert Herschelman

March 25, 1936 — August 18, 2021

Dianne Albert Herschelman, 85, of Sachse, TX died August 18, 2021 in Richardson, TX. She was born to John A. and Lucile H. Albert in Burlington, Iowa. She received a B.A. degree in Journalism from the University of Illinois. During her life she was a dance teacher, writer and
newspaper editor, volunteer services director and travel agent. She had endured rheumatoid arthritis since age 29.

Before moving to Arizona in 1985 she had lived in Geneva, IL for 26 years where she was associate editor of The Geneva Republican and active in community organizations. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Glendale, AZ, for more than 20 years and has belonged to Lakeview United Methodist Church of Sun City, AZ since 2007. She served as church librarian for several years. She moved to Sachse, TX in July 2020.

Mrs. Herschelman was a 50-year member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and was awarded the Certificate of Merit. She started and led several alumnae groups in Illinois and Arizona. She was a 50-year award-winning member of the National Federation of Press Women and a member of the West Valley Genealogical Society. She retired from Sun Health as volunteer director of Sun Health Care Center and has been a travel consultant for more than 25 years.

Survivors include her husband, Robert; children Randy (and wife Pam) of Garland, TX and Debi Palmquist of Garland, TX; granddaughters, Jodi Nguyen of Grand Prairie, TX; Kayli (Ryan) Bailey of Haslet, TX; and Chelsey (Kyle) Sheckells of Wylie, TX; and a great-granddaughter, Aria Lucile Nguyen of Grand Prairie.

Mrs. Herschelman was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lucile Albert; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Herschelman; and a granddaughter, Kimberli Herschelman.

Services will be held September 18, 2021 at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Sachse, Texas 75048.
