Deloris Ann Speer

Deloris Ann Speer, age 79, passed away peacefully at Methodist Hospital in Richardson on November 15, 2022 around three in the morning. She was surrounded by loved ones as she left this Earth to go be with our Heavenly Father. Born in Durant Oklahoma on October 18th, 1943 to parents Daniel "Dan" Anderson and Nellie "Nell" Anderson, Deloris Ann Speer was a loving, selfless, devout woman who always helped those she found in need.
A firm believer in Christ and His principles, Deloris engaged in numerous charitable endeavors. She sought out to spread the word of God to those who would hear it and outstretched her hands to those who needed it. She attended Buckingham Road Church of Christ and Saturn Road Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school, Bible hour, and volunteered with the prison ministry team.
She raised two children born to her, Shannon Michelle and Brian Robert. Together with the help of her husband of almost 55 years, Royce Stephen "Steve" Speer, she also took in several foster children and eventually adopted their third child, Jody Catherine. Deloris' charitable actions did not stop there, Jody Catherine gave birth to two children: Martin Louis Saucedo Jr. and Avery Louisa Saucedo. Deloris helped raise her grandchildren and taught them about the word of God.
Deloris was an inspiration to many and the light of Christ followed her wherever she went as she touched countless lives with her loving nature. Deloris was steadfast in her faith. Regardless of any of life's circumstances, her faith never wavered. She trusted in the Lord's plan not only for herself, but all of mankind.
In addition to raising her three children, she opened her heart and home to countless foster children and neighborhood kids. Her love for the Lord was her daily comfort.

A private family Graveside Service will be held at Sachse Cemetery on Thursday, November 17, 2022.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 11am at Saturn Road Church of Christ located at 3030 Saturn Road Garland, Texas.
