Clyde Leroy Bratton

October 7, 1946 — January 13, 2021

Leroy was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on October 7, 1946 to Alvie and Melba Bratton. He was one of six children. Leroy passed away from Covid-19 related pneumonia on January 13, 2021 in Dallas, Texas.

He moved to Texas in the early 1970's and began his life-long career in the drilling business. He traveled to many states and also traveled to Chile and Australia for his work. Leroy made many life-long friends during his time at Ingersoll Rand in Garland and retired in 2003.

Leroy was an avid life-long fisherman and could cook up a "mean mess of crappie". If you were lucky enough to be invited to one of his fish fry's you were in for a real treat. He took great joy cooking fish for friends and family. He always argued with his girls over how crunchy the pieces should be when done.

Leroy was a member of Mesquite Elks Lodge #2404 and was known as the "First Dude" when his wife served as the Exalted Ruler. He spent many hours donating his time and money to the community through the Elks and he will always be known as "one of the good guys".

Leroy spent his retirement tinkering in his ever-expanding workshop and helping others with their home, car, and lawn equipment repairs. He was known in the neighborhood as the "Lawnmower guy."

Leroy is survived by: his wife of 39 years, Suzanne Bratton; his two daughters April Caplette-Lang and Adrian Branch; and one son, Jeffrey Lee Bratton.

He will be missed by his five grandsons: Finnegan Lang Caplette, Harley James Branch, Harper Roy Branch, Garon Lee Bratton and his "Bozo", Haddock Sebastian August.

He is also survived by: his two sisters, Janie Luttrell and Nancy Cavaney of Blytheville, Arkansas; one brother, Bill Bratton of Sheridan, Arkansas; one very special niece, Angie Collins; and his two favorite sisters-in-law, Brenda "BK" Farley of Dallas and Cathy Beckley of Grayson, Louisiana.

My "Cupcake" you were and always will be my rock.
