Clide Taylor

January 22, 1950 — October 22, 2023

Sachse

Clide Taylor was born on January 22, 1950 to Odis and Lurise Taylor in Rosebud, Texas.  Clide graduated from Meriduth Dunbar High School in Temple, Texas.  He trained as a First Responder and Firefighter.

He worked at Wilsonart for 15 years, and went on to retire from Walmart Distribution after 22 years.

He met the love of his life, Olga Grant in October 1973, and they married on March 9, 1974.

Clide was a kind, hospitable, fun husband, father, brother, and a friend to anyone who needed him.  For those who knew him, he would give you the shirt off his back.

He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, May 1962 at the age of 12 in Heidenheimer, Texas in a stock tank. As a young teenager, Clide and his siblings would go door to door on Saturday afternoons to zealously invite people to the Kingdom Hall for Sunday's public talk. During these meetings, he enjoyed his assignment to read the Watchtower study article. He always demonstrated his love for the truth until his passing.  Despite his recent health, he constantly expressed his desire to be back in person at congregation meetings with his friends and family.

Clide was a protector & provider.  Taking care of his family's needs was important to him, he wanted everyone to be happy and content.  He also enjoyed working hard on behalf of the congregation as an elder for many years. One of his greatest joys was checking on everyone including the older witnesses as well as elderly neighbors.  Although he was quiet and didn't say much, what he did say was based on the Bible.

Even in his final days he always had a smile on his face. He relied on Jehovah faithfully to help him as Romans 8:35-39 says, "nothing, not even death can separate us from Jehovah God's love" and he often reminded others of this.

Clide was preceded in death by his father Odis, his mother Lurise, a brother Essie Thornton and sisters Bessie Jones, and Nancy Taylor.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 49 years, Olga.  Their children: daughters, Esterlineah (Salina) Wicker, NC, Fatima Chilton (Issac), Argyle, TX, Sabrinah Cantu (Elias), McKinney, TX, Rita and Rena Dubard, Sachse, TX and son Elijah Dubard, NY. His sisters, Elizabeth A, Mary A, Beverly K. Taylor and one brother Bobbie R. Taylor all from Temple, TX, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and many others who affectionately called him "Dad".

Today we shed tears of sorrow and lack the words to console one another... but soon Jehovah will call, and we will again shed tears... of joy and lack the words to describe our elation.

We pray that "the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will continue to guard your hearts and minds" during this difficult time.

Side by side, through and through, together till paradise.
