Claudia Marita Ball

The Lord called home Claudia Marita Ball on June 9, 2023. She was born on July 17, 1932 in Princeton, Texas to the late Claude and Rusha Godwin. She is survived by her son, Mike Ball and wife, Lisa of Melissa, Texas; daughter, Charlotte Spivey and husband Kevin of The Colony, Texas; grandchildren, Travis and Jessica Ball, and Kacey and Braeden Spivey; brother-in-law, Charles Tilley of Princeton, Texas; and many other loving family and friends.

            Claudia and her two sisters, Doris Jean and Mickey, were raised on a cotton farm in Princeton. They had a close relationship throughout their lives, and now all three are together in heaven.

Claudia graduated from Princeton High School in 1950 and married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Ball, in September of the same year. During the first years of their marriage, Claudia worked while Kenneth served in the United States Army and pursued a college degree from Texas A&M University. Later, Claudia enjoyed working part-time and spent over 17 years in the Administration Department of the Plano Independent School District.

Claudia was an active member of Hunters Glen Baptist Church in Plano, Texas and developed close relationships with the ladies in the Friendship Class. She continued those friendships even after she was physically unable to participate in church activities.

In 1990, Kenneth and Claudia moved to Melissa, Texas where Claudia enjoyed growing a vegetable garden every year, and she loved to share the produce with everyone she encountered. She enjoyed working puzzles and playing dominoes, but above all, Claudia enjoyed being with her family. Gatherings included massive amounts of Easter eggs, July 4^th fireworks, Thanksgiving food and Christmas presents.

Claudia’s love and support of her family and friends made an impact on each person’s life, and she’ll be remembered for years to come — and greatly missed.
