Charles Joseph Kam, SR..Born December 4, 1921 in Cumberland, Maryland. Crossed over August 20, 2012 in Austin, Texas.
Raised and educated in Buffalo, NY.
During World War II he fought with the First Infantry Division as a Combat Infantry Officer in North Africa, Sicily, France, and Germany. Involved in 8 battle campaigns and 3 landings; Oren- Algeria, Gela- Sicily, and Omaha Beach-Normandy. Appointed as Aide-de-Camp [personal assistant] to the Division Commander of the First Division, Brig. General Willard G. Wyman, for 10 months. Awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star with 2 Clusters, Medaille Commemorative De La Guerre, Presidential Unit Citation, and Combat Infantryman Badge. Recently retired from the Coast Guard Auxiliary after 15 years.
Met future wife, Lt Margaret M. Hilz RN of Pilot Point, TX, an army nurse, in Marseilles, France in the Fall 1945 and married in Buffalo in June 1946. Graduated from Canisius College and moved to Dallas in Summer 1948 where he and Margaret raised the family.
Father of 7 children; Charles J. Kam, JR [d 1959], Thomas W. Kam of Austin, TX, Robert S. Kam [d 2011], Cindy K. Montano of West Springfield, MA., David J. Kam of Frisco, TX, Cheri E. Kam of Kingwood, TX, and Carol M. Kam of Dallas, TX. Survived by one brother, Joseph Kam of Buffalo New York and one sister, Linda Kam. Greeted on the other side, with love, by his parents, his wife, one brother, two sons, and one daughter in law.
Spent over 55 years in the retail auto business as Sales consultant, Manager, and Dealer in Longview and Dallas Texas. Active at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church (1404 Old Gate Ln., Dallas, TX 75218) for 58 years.

Graveside Military Service at DFW National Cemetery, Grand Prairie, Tx, on Friday August 24, 2012 @ 11:30 AM. Will be interned next to his beloved wife of 56 years, Lt Margaret M Kam.
