Charles Lindley Carroll

June 24, 1925 — December 16, 2011

Charles Lindsey Carroll was born on June 24th, 1925 in Waxahachie, Texas. At the age of 17 he joined the United States Marines and fought for 3 and a half years in the Pacific. He received the Purple Heart medal, as well as other medals and awards while in service.

After the war, he attended Southern Methodist University where he received his degree in Business. He also met his wife-to-be, Jeni Seely, to whom he was married for 60 years.

He served as an elder of the Saturn Road Church of Christ for 25 years where he was loved and respected by many.

He is survived by:
wife, Jeni Carroll of Garland; two sons, Dr. Michael Carroll & wife Sylvana of Dallas; Dr. Greg Carroll & wife Mary of Sugar Land, TX; five grand-sons: Byron Carroll & wife Michelle of Dallas; Ian Carroll & wife Julianne and great-grandson Titus of Buda, TX; Daniel Carroll of Missouri City, TX; John Carroll of Stafford, TX; and Philip Carroll of Sugar Land, TX; one sister Bernice Press of Dallas.
Viewing will be held at Eastgate Funeral Home in Garland on Monday from 6:00"8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at Saturn Rd. Church of Christ (3030 Saturn Rd. Garland) on Tuesday morning at 10:00 AM.
Pallbearers are: Byron Carroll, Ian Carroll, Daniel Carroll, John Carroll, Philip Carroll and Earl Milner.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Harvest Sunday Fund at Saturn Rd. Church of Christ.
